Modem & Installation Details
Every connection type has different equipment requirements. Here's what to expect.
Radio rental is $9.99/mo on Air Fibre. Wireless plans at 100 Mbps and above rent next-generation hardware at $19.99/mo.
Air Fibre
Our Air Fibre service uses a specialized Truespeed radio, which our team professionally mounts and installs directly on your home or property. The radio rental is $9.99 per month, and while the installation is normally $299.99, we are currently waiving that fee as a special promotion. Depending on your home's setup, some additional parts might be required to complete the installation. Because this technology relies on a clear line-of-sight to our local towers, please use our quick online address checker to confirm availability at your specific location.
Fibre Internet
For the ultimate internet experience, our Fibre Internet service requires a professional installation of an Optical Network Terminal (ONT), which you can buy starting at $79.99 or rent for just $5 a month. Truespeed coordinates all the equipment and scheduling for you, though the actual physical installation is completed by a national incumbent representative for a one-time charge of $299.99 plus tax.
Cable Internet
If you choose our blazing-fast Cable 1 Gig plan, you will just need a compatible modem to get started. You can either buy one directly from Truespeed for anywhere between $59.99 and $199.99, or simply rent one from us for $8 to $12 a month. Getting set up is incredibly flexible; self-installation is generally available if you are switching an active service over to us, but we can easily arrange to send a technician out if you prefer a helping hand.
Rural Wireless
Our Rural Wireless service keeps you connected out in the country using a licensed or public spectrum radio antenna mounted right on your roof, eave, or a dedicated tower. Truespeed provides and installs both the outdoor antenna and the indoor connection to get your home network up and running. Packages at 100 Mbps and above rent next-generation hardware at $19.99 per month. Setup is $299.99, and it is your choice to rent or buy the equipment. Like our Air Fibre, this service is subject to line-of-sight requirements, so please use our address checker to confirm coverage at your property.
DSL / FTTN
Getting connected with our DSL/FTTN service requires a compatible VDSL modem, which you can purchase straight through Truespeed starting at $89.99. If you already own a modem and want to save some cash, you are more than welcome to use it. Our helpful team will look over your gear and advise you on the exact model you need to match your specific service type.
Frequently Asked Questions
Unlimited data means you will never receive an extra charge, a warning notice, or a speed reduction for the amount of data you use. All Truespeed plans include truly unlimited data, and we do not throttle connections during peak hours or at any other time.
Different packages require different hardware to function properly. Truespeed offers rental or purchase options for all packages that do not already include the hardware as part of the package. Call (613) 865-7733 and we will walk you through the right option.
No service contracts. Month-to-month works for us! Truespeed residential internet plans carry no early-termination fees, no 12 or 24-month commitments, and no lock-in of any kind. Stay because you love the service.
If you already have a similar service and are simply moving from another provider, you might not require an on-site visit from a technician. Most new cable and DSL installations take 1–2 hours. Our local Brockville staff will book a time that works for you. Fibre and rural wireless installations require a site visit to mount equipment and typically take 2–4 hours. Scheduling generally takes a week if a tech visit is required or if not, there are times it can be done within 24 hours. Most wireless or Air Fibre customers are scheduled and connected within the same week they sign up.
New cable customers pay a one-time $50 activation fee. DSL, Fibre, and Rural activations are priced individually, so contact us for details. There are no monthly account fees or hidden charges beyond your plan price +HST unless you decide to rent equipment.
We are thrilled to bring fast, reliable internet to folks all across Ontario and Quebec through our Fibre, Cable, and FTTN/DSL networks. If you live around Brockville or throughout Leeds and Grenville County, including Prescott, Johnstown, Maitland, Athens, Mallorytown and the rural communities in between, you can also take advantage of our specialized Truespeed Air Fibre (Brockville Focus) and Wireless services. Because we are constantly growing and lighting up new neighbourhoods, the quickest way to see exactly what awesome connection options are ready for your home is to pop your location into our handy address checker.
We want you to love your internet, but we also believe in total freedom. That is why we do not lock you into service contracts, meaning you are free to cancel at any time without any penalties. All we ask is that any rented equipment comes back to us clean and in good working order. You can easily drop it off yourself, or we can send a technician to pick it up for an additional charge. If things are not running smoothly, please give us a shout first. Our local support team resolves most issues the very same day, and our 4.6/5 Facebook rating shows just how hard we work to keep our neighbours connected.
Yes, absolutely! If you are signing up for Truespeed VoIP phone service, we can easily transfer your current home, business or cell phone number from any major provider so you do not have to change it. Depending on the package you choose, this porting service ranges from completely free up to $20 per line. The entire switch usually takes about 5 to 10 business days to finalize. Just let our team know you want to keep your number when you sign up, and please have a recent bill from your current provider handy. We will need a copy of that bill to get all the right details and make the porting arrangements seamless for you.
